Deciding which Troop to join?
Let us help you!

We are very fortunate to live in North Texas where Scouting is so active!  There are many good scout troops to choose from, but, like hiking boots, you need to find the right fit, somewhere where your son feels most comfortable.  Every troop is different. Let us help you and your son make an informed decision for his Scouting career. If you have any questions, please contact us here.

Webelos Walkabout

Each December Troop 70 hosts a “Webelos Walkabout” event at Boy Scout Hill on White Rock Lake. Come complete several requirements and have lunch with us. We will cover the “Webelos Walkabout Adventure” requirements 1-5; “Scouting Adventure” requirements 3D, 4 and 5; and “Outdoor Adventurer Adventure” requirement A4 or B5. For more information on this year’s event contact us here

Attend a Troop Meeting

Attend a Troop 70 meeting! Have the full scout experience and work on any Webelos requirements such as “Scouting Adventure” requirement 2. Another typical requirement is “Building a Better World Adventure”. Let us know what your Webelos need. Don’t forget your visitor’s patch featuring Old Man Texas! For more information or to schedule a meeting contact us here.

Come to a Campout

Camping is fundamental to Boy Scouts and Troop 70 has a fantastic camping program! Attend a campout with our troop to see.  We can complete “Scouting Adventure” requirement 4 and complete the “Outdoor Adventurer Adventure” requirements.  What a great way to spend a weekend! Troop 70 offers a year-round adventure-based program designed to offer and encourage effective character, citizenship, and fitness training for boys age 10 with Arrow of Light to 17 years of age. We are dedicated to fostering character development through scouting activities, including a heavy emphasis on providing our scouts with authentic, hands-on, troop leadership; building self-confidence, independence, and initiative by giving responsibility to and recognizing each scout for his own achievements and advancements; and in learning team building, cooperation, and mutual respect through the Patrol Method--all in a supportive, safe, and fun environment in which Scouts are encouraged to encounter real challenges and to develop and implement solutions to them.
